The seminar celebrates the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre’s launch of the book "Umm Kulthoom: Poetry and Singing." The book is part of the series of music books focusing on the arts of Emirati and Arabic singing and music. It is a unique sequel of great books, and an important addition to the ALC’s publications.
A poetry evening by the Emirati poetess Kholoud Al Mualla, as she recites a selection of her poems. The evening will be spent in the brilliant vibes of poetry.
A book discussion event of “Café Riche: An Eye on Egypt” by Maisoon Saqer. The book documents an important era in Egypt’s cultural history and highlighting prominent intellectuals and creators associated with the cafe and the history of intellectual life in Egypt.
The seminar sheds light on the unique experience of each of the late Dr. Salah Fadl and Dr. Jaber Asfour, and their great influence on Arab culture.

The session sheds light on the current situation of the Arabic language in the various educational curricula across the Arab region, drawing on the report issued by the ALC in this regard.
The session reviews the current situation of the short story in the UAE and the stages of its development, its major characteristics, the elements of its flourishment, the most important names and experiences of its authors and features of its uniqueness.
The session focuses specifically on Arabic music and its development through the ages. When it comes to the arts of music, this influence leads to interacting and being influenced by other cultures, so the reciprocal influence is always present, demonstrating the richness and originality of its two sides.
An Emirati film documenting the life of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul in peace.
The film opens with Sheikh Zayed’s rule of Al Ain in 1946, and his wise management of the region’s affairs, presenting his life in a unique cinematic style featuring Sheikh Zayed’s development of the Eastern Region of Abu Dhabi, and the progress it achieved at all levels.
The seminar discusses one of the Centre’s latest publications, "The Travels of Ali Bey Al Abbasi to Egypt, Hijaz, Palestine and Damascus" by Don Domingo Badía Y Leblich. The book was translated by Dr. Talaat Shaheen, who will discuss the challenges faced by the translators in general while handling works related to travel literature.
